Poker tournament weekend!

Friday Nov 14 League Game - I put my game face on and thought I would play well today.  I even avoided a suckout in the 2nd level.  50/100 and I see a multiway limped flop in the BB with 10 spade4s Spade Card.  Board brings 10 heart4d card2c.  I check MP bets $300, LP raises to $800 and I RR to $2500.  MP RR AI for 15K and its folded back to me.  Surprisingly this is not an auto fold in this crowd.  Either he has a set or I'm way ahead against this player (Lots of history).  I said "either you have a set or you're overplaying your AA and I feel so unlucky right now" so I laid it down.  He turned over AA.  He says "I couldn't put you on anything with that board."  "So you think I just check REaised 2 people to $2500 with 1 pair?"  "But I had pocket aces!"  And thats how it is...I said run the board because I felt SO unlucky.  Board goes Turn 8, River 8.  LOL.  SERIOUSLY.  So after avoiding disaster in the 2nd level, I thought I would get rewarded by the poker gods.  Not so much.  When it got down to 12 players, this is the sequence of hands in 2 orbits that sent me packing.  Raise with 8 club8 heart, got RR all in called and lose to 5 heart5 diamond.  Raise with 10 spadeT club, RR AI AGAIN, called and lose to King ClubJack heart.  Raise with As DiamondKing Diamond, got RR, I ship it in (cause now i'm the shortstack) and lose to Jack clubJ Spade.  Fuck me!  Knocked out in 12th and now I officially sit 10th overall with 2 games left.  Top 9 advance to the main event final table.  I am within 23 points of 4th place and 8 people are right on my ass.  Which means I need to step it up the last 2 games and play for points, not necessarily for 1st.

Saturday Nov 15 $100 Tournament - Started with 20K in chips and I was able to build it to 25K by the first break.  I liked my table line up, as I was leading the aggressiveness and I was going to take advantage of that in the next segment.  There wasn't much confrontation early, taking most pots down on the flop and turn.  I turned it up a notch 2nd segment and I can tell people were getting annoyed, especially the ones sitting to my left.  I came into pots raising, if I was going to play.  Here's a pretty sick hand.  200/400:  Behind some limpers, I raise on the button with 9 heart9 spade to 1600.  One blind calls and an EP limper calls.  Flop King Spade8 Diamond3c.  BB checks, EP checks and I C-Bet 2500.  BB folds, EP raises to to 5000.  I know what he has and know what he is trying to represent.  I felt stubborn and didn't want to lay it down.  I RR to 11K.  After some thought he called to my surprise.  (We are the 2 chip leaders at our table at this point) Turn 5 heart and he checks.  Either I shut down or I continue with my move.  I chose #2 and went AI for about 20K.  He folds.  Lost a key hand right before 2nd break As DiamondKing Club UTG vs As heart10 spade BB.  flop King SpadeT club4h card and he bet into me.  I called, hoping to get all his chips but the turn was a 10 heart and I wound up doubling him up.  I still went into 2nd break with a little over 50K.  3rd segment is where it went all wrong.  Just couldn't keep the momentum going.  Then I made a mistake.  1K/2K:  Raised UTG to 7K with 9 spade9club, UTG+1 shoves for 15K, SB calls leaving 6K behind, BB calls, leaving 25K.  If I call, I also have 25Kish left or fold and have a little over 30K.  However, I felt I was ahead of UTG+1 and the SB.  BB is fully capable of just calling there with AK.  But would he do the same with AA/KK,QQ?  Why wouldn't he shove with the pot so big?  I elected to RESHOVE in this spot.  SB relunctantly calls as does the BB.  UTG+1 2c2d, SB 9 Diamond9 heart, BB Queen DiamondQueen Spade.  Board blanks and GG me, out in 15th-ish.  Mathematically, I think it was the right move, it just happens SB had 99 and BB didn't reshove with QQ.  HOWEVER, I think I could have waited for a better spot, given the handle I had on the table.  I think I should have folded and still have 30K to work with.  Its not much but I think that was the mistake.  Bugged me the rest of the night.  Bought into the dealer choice cash game for $100, played for a couple hours and cashed out $232.50.  At least I made my buy in back.

GO UTES!  "Quest for Perfection!"  AGAIN...
