Frustrated...
.25/.50 NL $100 max - So, I was really excited to play last night. I'm getting over my sickness and I liked the table line up since I felt I had a good feel for how everybody played. I built my stack to $150+ fairly quickly, picking my spots and picking up dead pots. Then this key hand came up: I open raise in middle position with
$2.50 and get called in LP and from the blinds. Flop comes

. Checks to me and I bet $5 and only LP calls. Turn
, completing the rainbow and strengthening my hand. I lead out for $12 and again was called. I welcomed the call as I have every Ace dominated. Sets are a slight concern but the player tends to play sets a little quicker and I felt he would have definitely raised me on the turn since I was establishing a big pot there. River
. I bet $20 and LP raises to $60. Hmmm, so either he played a set super slow against me (which is possible since I'm pretty aggressive) or he has A10. Mind you, I don't give this player credit for being super deceptive since he's just not that type of player. If he has a set so be it, and I ship it in (he only has $20 more) and he tables
. Definitely on the bottom range I had him on.
Sigh...
Had to scratch back and again, built it back up to 150+. Made a few big hands but never got paid off on them. Then this hand: open raised in MP with
and was called by the same player in the previous hand in LP as does a blind. Flop

. Blind checks, I bet, LP calls. Turn
. Again I bet and was called. River
. I make another pot size bet and he 3 bets me. Oh boy... Inside straight draw? What is he calling me down with? I relunctantly call and he tables
. WOW.
So thats how my night went. I pick off a guy making a semi bluff with a flush draw and ship it on the turn but he calls anyway and gets there. Turn a straight flush draw against 3rd pair and don't get there. etc. I ended the night -35, very dissappointing. Couple hands go my way and I was definitely 300+. Guess thats how it goes sometimes. Tonights the league game so hopefully I can get something going tonight. Wish me luck!
