Sunday/Monday - June 22/23
Sunday was a terrible day poker wise. Every bad beat came crashing down in one day. By late Sunday evening, my head was about to blow off. I'm talking EVERY SINGLE tournament (not literally but you know what I mean)I played, I get it in good and can't win. It starts to wear on your mind!
I played the Sahara 11am, got bounced when I made a SICK call with
against a limp raise AI for both our tournament life. I even called his hand "
or
" and he had the latter. Board runs out with a 10 and GG me with 14 left, top 10 get paid.
Then I played 3 satellite events at the Rio.
1st -
vs
and I can't win the race, which cripples me and sends me packing in 5th place.
2nd -
vs
which I can't win the stupid race and sent packing again in 5th place.
3rd -
vs
and board runs out

. Guy raised, I RR AI as I put him on a move, he calls anyway and bam! Win that one and I have 10K out of the 15K in play. Instead bye bye in 4th place.
So that was my Sunday. Just tough beats. So I made a promise to myself to not complain about bad beats anymore. Yes they are digusting and sick situations but I know my time will come.
Monday was Caesars Deep Stack. Made some sick sick reads and made great plays/calls/laydowns. Built my stack during each level and learned a lot of new things. When my table broke, I was put on a table with 7 really good players and I learned some good things from these guys. I only want to tell you about one hand: 400/800 level EP raises to 3200, I RR to 10K with
. I get him to commit all of his chips (70K) with
and I have 50K. Board runs out and he spikes a Q on the river. IF I win THAT hand, I have 100K at LEVEL 6 (400/800). It would have been so awesome but the cards didn't cooperate.
I learned a lot of new things in that tournament and the ones I've played thus far. I've met a lot of cool people and I think it will help my game tremendously. Once I've settled back down from this trip, I'll take some time and just reevaluate everything. Right now, I have so much thought running through my head it hurts.
I have one more chance to make something happen tomorrow in the Caesar's tourney. If not, theres always next time.
On a good note, played some cash at Binions and cashed +180. Also congrats to Bruce to cashing in the Omaha hi/lo event at Binions and to Chuckie for chopping the Orleans Omaha hi/lo event! Good work!
Until then, wish me the best luck possible and I'll see you at the felt!
