May 30th game

I went into the league game feeling super good after the decent cash session I had on the previous day.  I started off being aggressive but very selective.  I used my aggression against opponents that I knew would let me.  I was able to build my stack to 13K at the first break, well above average.  It was a rebuy tournament and for some reason, rebuy tournaments in the league brings out the stupidity in people.  To each his own I guess.  I sat back and let everybody play super loose (and BAD) and collected chips.  Didn't really matter as you'll see.  A few hands after the first level after the break this situation comes up.  With the blinds at 200/400, I limp in the sb with 10 heart7 heart behind a button limper and we see a 3 way flop of 7 club7spade8 club.  Nice flop right!?  I check (hoping to check raise in this spot), BB checks, and button goes AI for 16K.  WTF!?  Lets take a look here, 1200 in the pot, I have 17K behind and the button goes AI for 16K?  I have absolutely no idea where I am at and I really didn't see an all in coming either.  I didn't instacall.  I ran the process through my head of what he could possibly have.  I guess I could be beat.  However, I thought the most likely scenario was a flush draw, maybe straight flush draw.  I elected to call and my opponent tabled As Club7 Diamond to my surprise and it holds.  The hand basically knocked me out of the tournament since I was only left with 1K.

I was really dissappointed in the way I went out.  At the same time however, I don't think I can get away from that hand in that spot.  The only way I can is if I look at it that I only invested a total of 400 and I still have 17K behind, and I have NO IDEA where I am at in this hand.  But I think that would be playing too conservative and I only play to take first.

That was the only situation worth noting in this session.  See you at the felt!
