End of March Sessions
I didn't close out March like I wanted to. Besides the tourney/cash game I played with my brother and his friends on Weds March 26, I closed out with 2 cash sessions and 1 tourney.
March 26 Tourney/Cash - Netted $0. $20 tourney but I won back my entry fee in the cash game we played after. It was up and down all night.
March 27: .25/.50 $50 max - I played terrible. Even playing so badly, I was only down $10 - $20 bucks but proceeded to lose it all in the last 2 orbits. Just terrible play.
March 29: .25/.50 $50 max - This was one of THOSE sessions. Everybody and their mama hit their draws on me but I somehow can't hit my draws even when I have a billion outs. I got my initial buy in of $50 to over $100 but bled it all away and more. Heres the last hand of the day to sum up how things went. I'm about $50 behind and its short handed now. I limp in with
and SB raises to $3. BB calls, I call, as does one other player. We take a multiway flop of

. Original raiser leads out for $5, BB calls, and I bump it to $17 and its folded to SB. He thinks and calls as does the BB. I feel I'm beating the range I have them on. Turn
, very good card for me. If I wasn't ahead on the flop I'm sure I'm ahead now. SB checks, BB checks, and I push, having about $25 behind. SB folds but the BB calls. Not sure what she really has in this spot, calling with a weak J, maybe I ran into an oddly played set, or she's just gambling with the flush draw. River came
. I turn my hand over, obviously thinking I'm good unless she now has a boat. Instead she turned over
for the TURNED flushed draw and got there. HUH!? Seriously, she called my raise on the flop hoping to go runner/runner! Fucking awesome....I can't wait to play with her again and get my money back and then some. (Side note: she called a hand earlier in the day with queen high and won. Flopped no pair/draw but CALLED off her stack, awesome) Seriously though, thats how my day went.
March 30: $100 tourney 22 players: Played really well up to the second break. I was probably chip leader on my table their for a while. Made some really good plays and some bad ones. I made a terrible lay down with the 8 high flush on a 4 flush board when the lady to my immediate left pushed all in. 8 high flush isn't usually a hand that is good but when she was acting SO STRONG I knew she was bluffing. I didn't even think she had a diamond but I didn't want to put my tournament in jeopardy in case I was wrong. Turns out I was right as she turned over the 3 of diamonds for the flush. At least now I have a very good tell on her which I will benefit from in the future! Hand that I went out on was AK vs 1010 and I couldn't improve and win the race. Seems as if everybody won their race against me but I can't win one. Great. I finished 12th and it was a good experience and I hope to get in more tournaments in the future to prepare me for the WSOP.
March totals:
7 cash sessions: 5+/2- for +293.50
3 tournies: 1+/2- for +1230 and an entry into a WSOP event.
Not a bad month! Wish I could have finished stronger. It just means I have to start April off with a bang!
See you at the felt!
