Other Updates
Some of you know I made a personal commitment to get in shape and fit this year. I wanted to do it because I wanted to promote healthy living in my family and lead by example. I'm not really the type to be the "do as I say, not as I do" guy. Instead of approaching it as a diet, I'm taking the lifestyle change approach. We've changed the way we shop for food and what we prepare for dinner. If we don't buy junk food in the first place, then we won't eat it. I started my challenge on January 9 at 204 lbs and as of March 9, I was at 187. Scale weight isn't really what I'm after, its shedding fat. However, my bodyfat % was pretty high when I started so I estimated i'd have to get down to 150ish to get to <10%. I think I shot a little low at first and now I think I'll only have to go to 160/165. You guys know I like to document everything I do so here are some progress pics from Day 1/Week 4/Week 8:

I still got a long way to go but I definitely see improvement. I lost the fat rolls on my back and I'm leaning out. The man boobs are starting to go away too! If I keep it up, I should be close to where I want to be by end of June. Wish me luck!

Ya, no problem. I started with getting my diet in check. I hate about 10x by body weight in calories and mainly good, heathly foods 6 times a day. I eliminated sweets, soda, desserts, etc. A change in eating habits is the #1 priority in my opinion. I started lifting weights Mon, Weds, Fri and cardio Tues, Thurs, Sat. I didn't follow a strict plan but your body will respond well to any type of change and increased activity. My goal wasn't to become ripped. I got a lot of information from www.johnstonefitness.com. Currently, I'm doing some exercises from the P90x program and thats working too. If you commit to change, you will get results. Good luck with your goals!
