Need to shift gears....Poker sucks right now......
My mind is in a tailspin right now. Its completely killing my concentration at the table. I really don't know what it is. My game is completely off right now. I got some A.D.D. bullshit or something going on. It effected my game in Las Vegas and my play in last nights game. I'm making wrong plays, wrong reads, the whole bit. I'll lose a hand which then affects my hands I play later in the session. Instead of playing each hand independently of each other, I let bad play or a bad beat by others effect my game. Last night, I began playing weak/tight poker. NEVER a winning plan.
.50/$1.00 game - It started last night when I raise with KhKc in middle position behind some limpers to $8. 4 or 5 to the flop of Qd 8d 9d. EP leads out for $20. I had him on something like AQ KQ with a big diamond. With 2 opponents left behind me to act, I smoothcall the $20 and LP raises AI ~ $60. EP mucks his hand reluctantly and I lay down my hand also, faceup. EP shows KhQc and LP showed Ad7d. Obviously it was the right lay down but it screwed with my head the rest of the night. I knew it was one of those "get slapped in the face, you're going broke" nights. 2nd hand of the night and it basically takes half my stack.
Not more than 10 mins later, I call a LP raiser in the BB with A10s. 4 to the flop of A 10 6 rainbow. I check with the intention of check raising and no one bets. F me. Turn 6. I bet $14. Folds to the original raiser who makes it $28. Obviously I'm not happy with that turn card or the raise at this point. But with only $40 behind total, I was like F it, and went all in. River was no help to me as he turned over 67off. Nice turn. one of THOSE nights.
With the 2nd buy in, I raised in MP with QQ to $8, LP calls, and one of the limpers (who was going to raise but didn't because of the oversized chip rule) makes it $38 total. Fuck me up the ass, honestly. I was about 90% sure I was beat. But of course, I call as does the LP. (what the fuck LP is doing, I have no idea). Flop comes 7 high, rainbow and EP instapushes. Hmm, what could he be doing that with.......About 99% sure I was beat, so I laid it down after committing half my stack again. Yes, it was a great lay down but geez! Cooler after Cooler. Of course I go broke with a K in my hand on a K high flop against AA.
Total buy ins: $200. Cash out: $66. I need to clear my mind. I need to go into these games with a different mindset, a paradigm shift. I know these players have gotten better over time and I need to adjust my game or I'm going to get eaten alive. My mentality is not in the right place right now. I don't know what it is really. Could be stress from life, work, personal, etc who knows. I cancelled my session today. I'm going to go play HORSE tomorrow and then I won't have another session until next Thursday. I'm going to say it right now. Next Thursday will be PROFITABLE.
Good luck everybody and see you at the felt!
