Lazy, Lazy, Lazy

Well, lazy pretty much sums it up.  I've been slacking on my blogging.  Normally, I like to blog the very next day after a session so the hands are still fresh in my mind but lately, I just wasn't really in the mood.  So here's a summary:

08/16:  +35.25  Started off slow and steady then lost a couple of big ones towards the end of the night.

08/19:  +75  Odd session.  The play was odd.  It was one of those days where people raise, reraise preflop.  Then more raise, reraise on the flop.  Then the turn and river go check check.  I played well and made a couple of big moves with absolutely nothing, wish I could have remembered the hands.  Honestly, I should be up more.  On two separate hands, I made bad calls for $50 each when the guy bet $50 on the river into about a $20 pot.  Both times I paid him off.  It was just wierd.  I thought he was trying to buy it as he did the same move earlier but I was wrong.  I also paid off Wil twice for about $100.  Once, he tried to make some wierd move with A4 on an board of A25.  He pushed on the flop and I called with AK.  Sure enough, he pairs his 4.  Another time, KK vs AA, nothing you can do about that.  I did make a sick move against a new guy with AJo on a 10 high flop.  He bets flop, I raise.  Turns another rag, he bets again, $20.  I raise to $75.  River blank, he checks, I shove for $100ish and he folds.  Pretty sick hand, wish I could remember the details!

08/20:  -70  Mix game.  Played a bunch of different types of games; Stud, omaha, 2-7 draw, etc.  I played way too many hands on these games.  Pretty much a learning lesson.

08/23 -56.50  Not too bad considering I was stuck $120 at a point and was making 2nd best hand all night.  Set over set, 2 pair vs better 2 pair etc.  I did make a sick call with Ace high though for about a $50 pot.

08/26 +165.50  Again, lost early on two hands to the same guy.  1st one, 1010, I raise preflop.  Flop comes 8 high.  Guy bets into me, I raise and he calls.  Turn 8 and he bets into me again but small.  I call him down and he shows me J8.  Very next hand, JJ.  Open raise again.  I still have the overpair on the flop.  Bet the pot on the flop, called.  Bet the pot on the turn, called.  River makes the flush and he checks to me.  I check behind, pretty sure he was on the flush draw, but hoping he just had top pair, and he made the flush with 97.  Very suprised he didn't value bet the river once he made the flush.  I can't control what people do, I can only give them improper odds to draw.

The only other hand of any worth was when I got silly and open raised with 24o in middle position.  sb RR and I elected to call, why? I don't know.  However, I flopped pretty good:  2 4 J, flush draw.  He leads out for about $6, roughly pot size.  I was pretty sure he had an overpair and wanted to get some money in the pot.  If not, I take the pot right here.  At least I can define my hand pretty quick.  I raised to $16, and with not much hesitation, he goes AI for about $175.  I only had about $115 behind and I started saying, "you have aces, you can't have JJ, no way" and call.  Sure enough, he had aces.  Luckily, turn and river bricked out and I take down a HUGE pot.  Lets just say he wasn't happy about me calling his raise with 2 4.  Pretty sweet though!

I have a trip planned this coming weekend to go to Mesquite and play in the Oasis Open and some live action poker!  Stay tuned!
