I woke up and saw on the net that the heads up tourney was starting today at the Rio and Hellmuth was sitting final table, going for #12. I wanted to go over there, catch some of the action and play some more satellites. Of course play more paparazzi too! By the time I got there, Rich had already been at the Rio for a bit. We quickly met up, decided on a place to eat, and grabbed some grub. After eating, Rich went and played satellites while Justin and I watched some final table action. There was one crazy 3 way action preflop, AA vs AA vs KK and they got all their money in preflop. Hellmuth had one of the AAs. The aces held up and they split the pot. It was a "made for tv" hand for sure. I wandered around a bit and was able to snap these photos (Yes I know I'm a geek!)

I played in one satellite and was able to net about $400. We met up with Rich around 5:30pm to go play the Sahara tournament at 7:30. I did fairly well in the tournament. Rich and Justin both finished right around 20th or so. With around 15 people left, I was chip leader at my table. Then the races started against the smaller stacks. AK lost to JJ and 1010 lost to QJ. Now I'm shortstacked! These races late in the tournaments are killing me! I was left with 1.5 BB. Somehow, I was able to battle back, getting lucky on a few hands and made final table! We did a 10 way chop, each taking home about $500. It felt really good to finally cash in a multi table tourney! Rich, Justin, and myself made a quick stop at the Peppermill cafe (on me) before calling it a night. Profitable day! Yeh Me!
