After making some money Saturday, I woke up Sunday with a bounce in my step. After a good morning shower, I headed straight down to the IP poker room for some action. I figured it would take Justin and Jason a bit to wake up and get ready and I wanted to start the day right away. I probably got down their around 11 am and there wasn't a single table going. There was one guy waiting and he asked me if I wanted to play heads up. No thanks. I went over to the blackjack table and bought in. About an hour later I was up $300 and my friends were ready to go eat. Perfect timing! I was about ready to get up anyway because you don't want to give back your winnings! We went and grabbed some food at Pizza Palace and headed over to the Bellagio. They had their Bellagio Cup going on and nothing really interested me. They were running direct entry satellites into their events and 2/5 NL and up. I called Rich to see what his plans were for the day. He was going to lounge around the pool for a bit and we decided we'd meet up at Harrah's a little bit later.

I left the Bellagio and headed straight for Harrah's. I bought in to their 1/2 NL for $300. After about 30 mins, Rich arrived and was seated to my left. We pretty much stayed out of each other's way the entire time. I played for about 4 hrs, never really playing big pots (except 1), just small ball. The big hand: J9 hearts in sb, 5 or 6 players to the flop. Flop K92, 1 heart. I lead out for $10, mp calls and everyone else folds. (MP is a maniac, he keeps showing bluffs and overbetting pots etc but I dont think he really understands his reasonings. Players started calling him down with bottom/middle pair and he was getting frustrated.) Turn brings the 6 of hearts. I bet $20 and he raises to $40. I put him on a set/2 pair here. I definitely knew I was behind. Everytime he had a big hand, he tried and suck you in. When he didn't have a hand, he overbet. He had over $600 behind and I knew this was my chance to make some money. I smoothcalled his 1 bet raise. River brings the ace of hearts. GIN! I check and he fires $50. My thought process is how much will he call? I elected to raise $150 on top of his bet. He called and turned over K9 and was disgusted. On another hand, he limped in ep and I raised on the button with AQ. Flop: J 7 5. He bet about $25 into the pot and I make it $125 to go. He starts cursing and throwing a hissy fit. "Do you always have a hand when I do?" he says. He lays down KJ faceup. I tell him good lay down. biggrin He had reached a high of about $800 and cashed out around $250 by the time he left. I played about 3 more hands and the game broke up. +400ish.

Rich and I decided to go grab some food at Panda Express. Afterwards, we headed to the Venetian. They didn't have any satellites going on at that point and the list for 1/2 was 30 players deep. Back to Harrah's it is! I signed up for their 7pm tourney and played some live game while I waited. I was felted pretty early losing on two big hands, both times holding QJ. First QJ: board of JJ9, turn 2 and got it all in vs a shortstack who held AJ. 2nd QJ: QQ105. River brought an 8 and a lady made a straight on me. However, same lady gave my chips to Rich a little while later when she tried to bluff him. The tourney was also uneventful as I was knocked out pretty early.

Rich mentioned the 11pm Sahara tourney so Rich, Justin, and myself took a trip there. Probably about 100 entrants, $62 buy in. I finished 12th, top 10 cashed, and Justin finished 7th, cashing about $100. Rich was out pretty early but I'm sure he made some money playing craps! By this time, it was 4am or so and it was time to call it a night.
