I didn't get much sleep at all. I got to bed around 4:30 am and I had to wake up at 8am to do a conference call/training session for work. The training session lasted about 3 hrs. After that, I went poolside for about 30 mins and caught some rays. Jason O was leaving today so we said our goodlucks and goodbyes.
Justin and I met up with Rich at the Venetian. I played a quick $80 satellite but was knocked out pretty quick in 9th place. Of course, the list for 1/2 NL was ridiculously long so we wandered over to Harrahs where I spent the rest of the day. Rich bought directly into their NL game and I played in their 7 pm tourney but nothing to report since I was knocked out mid way through it. I decided to play their cash game before going to bed. Suprisingly, to some of you, I was playing pretty tight. I don't think I played a hand in the first 30 mins! First hand I play: I have KK in the BB and raise to $15 behind some limpers and get 1 caller in mp. Flop: 10 7 2, rainbow. I bet $30 and he goes all in for $65. I said "you may have me beat but I have to call the min raise" He turns over Q7. Turn and river both brick and I win a nice pot. I then went back into my shell and played pretty snug. I won and lost a few small pots here and there and then this hand: K10 spades in bb. About 6 limpers to the flop. Flop: AK8, ace of spades 8 of spades. I bet $15 and was called in lp. Turn K. I bet $25 and he raises to $75, leaving him about $100 behind. Really........ I reraised putting him all in. He goes into the think box. Now I know I have him. He says "I'm pot committed, I have to call" HUH? I had no idea what hand he could have there (to be pot commited), maybe a flush draw but thats dead since I'm drawing to the nut flush. He turned over A6
. River brought the Q of spades and I take down a huge pot. Played for an hr or so more and ended the session +400ish.
